Columbia, SC

The Dalenburgs have returned to the states and are busy sharing their ministry with churches. Lunch was recently shared with several church members after their first visit back to LUMC.

All of the family have had dental appointments with cleaning. The three boys went to their orthodontist - Joseph for a follow up and Samuel and James to see if they need any work. They will be getting braces! The BLESSING is that the doctor will give his services for free - what a wonderful family (Dr. Fulmer in Spartanburg). Most of the family have had medical checkups, especially Samuel from his malaria, all is good.

The sons are getting ready for school, Joseph to Asbury University in Wilmore KY, Samuel to Covent Classical Christian School (CCCS) here in Columbia, and James at Dalenburg Day School.

Support

The Dalenburgs expressed a huge thank you to LUMC for the love offering that brought peace to their family. They are constantly looking for new ministry partners and need to increase their financial support base. Most Sundays to this year’s end are filled. They will use this time to search for new opportunities and make time next year to share their.

Senegal

In Senegal, Adam preached twice a month at two United Methodist Churches. He taught monthly on various topics and visited interior preaching points to help and to encourage, as well as discipling two men, Fidel and Stan.

Jennifer home schooled Samuel and James and taught ESL (English as Second Language) at two United Methodist Churches. She also helped with the Nutrition Program (taught, helped, encouraged) in Thies and was involved (taught and participated) with a women’s prayer group in a nearby community. She participated in a women’s bible study group.

Joseph graduated from Dakar Academy with honors. He played and coached several sports and was the head lighting technician for plays and dramas. Joseph participated in three outreaches where they built churches and evangelized out in the bush country and taught Sunday school for elementary age children. He attends Asbury University where he is majoring in History, get his teaching certificate and play baseball for the University.

Samuel was very involved with the youth of the church. Many considered him the Mayor of our neighborhood. He walked and visited with everyone (venders, guards, street people). He enjoyed going to Dakar where he was welcomed by his classmates at Dakar Academy. He will be attending Covent Classical Christian School here in Columbia where he is entering as a sophomore, instead of a freshman.

James enjoyed walking to the shops and buying bread or Coke or whatever we needed. He really got into the praise and worship at church. He enjoyed the rooftop of their house where he could run, play, rollerblade and spy. He will continue to be homeschooled by Jennifer and is looking forward to playing a fall sport.

Future

The Dalenburgs are looking to return to Senegal in the summer of 2012. Adam will focus on developing disciples and community, Jennifer will be involved in women ministries. This can only happen if they are at an acceptable support level. Their hope is for some of our supporting churches to come and visit them in Senegal! This will provide first hand many ministry opportunities.

There are too many ministry projects to name. But know this, there is a project to match your church's goal and vision for outreach!
