Commonly asked questions:

Q: What is a Small Group?

A: Any group that meets on a regular basis, short or long term, with a designated leader can be considered a Small Group.

Q: Is there a special structure require that a ChristCare group must follow?

A: There is no specific structure required. However, using the Christ Care Small Group Training requirements, all Small groups include the following five components.

  • Prayer and Worship
  • Biblical Equipping
  • Community care
  • Missional Service
  • Writing a covenant together

Q: I am already leading a structured Bible study. What does this training offer that I do no already have that would help me lead my Bible study more effectively?

A: That’s a very good question. Many Bible studies, such as Disciple or Beth Moore, have an imposed structure that includes some or even all of the components above. This Small Group Leaders Training will enhance the skills you already have in the areas of listening, confidentiality, facilitation skills and other areas. It will also extend your ability to lead more effectively by offering targeted training in areas that are not normally included in Bible study training. That might include building community, referrals for additional care, prayer and worship, or other areas that will help you become an even better small group leader.
