Electronic Bibles are revolutionizing the way many people research their Bibles. The software below by Parsons Technology is a widely used software package for Bible research and study. In addition to using the ZoneAlarm program you can go to the Gibson Research web page and test the security of you computer free. Click this link to go to the Gibson Research ShieldsUp Test Page. Test your computer before you load ZoneAlarm. Then test it again after you have loaded ZoneAlarm. You will be amazed at the results.
While you are on that web site take some time to browse around and read some of the things he says about Trojans, cookies, and other such damaging stuff that gets put on your computer without your knowledge or consent. In particular, you should read the "LeakTest" page. There you will find that ZoneAlarm is the best personal firewall program, even though other firewall vendors charge you for their software. That included McAfee, Nortons, and others.
SpyBot Ad and Spyware Killer
This software attacks the Trojan ads and aplets that have been downloaded to you computer as you surf the Internet. Yes, many web sites routinely download ad and spyware aplets to you computer without telling you about it. The aplets start using you computer for their own purposes, thereby robbing you of the use of your own machine. Do not think for a moment that the web sites that download these things to your computer care one wit about whether or not you can use your own machine. They are only interested in stealing the use of your computer. Download, install, and run SpyBot. It will scan your computer hard drive for these programs and kill them.

The Truth About Cookies
The truth about cookies that are constantly downloaded to your computer by numerous web sites is that they have no redeeming features and should never be left on your computer. Commercial web sites use them to temporarely save ordering information while you are in the process of buying their products. But when the transaction is completed they are left behing on your computer by the web site you were connected to. Many cookies are benign and cause no harm. But, some web sites use them to track information about your purchasing and web surfing habits. Other cookies perform more sinister tasks all hidden from your view. Get rid of all cookies regularly. The instructions below tell you how to do this.
- Click on Start.
- In the window that comes up click on Search.
- Do a search for Files and Folders.
- Type in the word cookies in the space provided.
- The search will give you a list of cookies and folders that contain cookies. Open each of the folders and delete all the cookies.
What you do next depends on the version of Windows you have on your computer. Because of that the next instructions are generic in nature and presume that you know how to use the search function. If you don't, find someone who can explain it to you for your version of Windows.
