Welcome! Here’s some information about what to expect on a Sunday morning at LUMC.
For most people, Sunday morning worship services are the first introduction to LUMC. We have three services on Sunday and one on Tuesday:
- 8:30am Traditional Service
- 11:00am ANew Blended Service in Ministry Center
- 11:00am Traditional Service
- 6:30pm Tuesday night traditional service
When Should I Arrive?
Typically, you should arrive about 15 minutes before the worship service starts to allow plenty of time to make your way to the sanctuary, get a bulletin and find a seat. You may want to arrive a few minutes earlier if you need to take your children to Sunday School, or to the Nursery.
Greeters in the sanctuary will welcome you and provide you with a bulletin and any other handouts for the service.
What should I wear?
Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. The pastors wear robes for the traditional services but business casual in the contemporary service. You’ll see people in the pews dressed in all styles—from jeans to business attire.
Where Do I Park?
Parking is available in the Lexington court house parking lot, located directly next to Lexington UMC, and is available for our church to use during the day. There is reserved visitor parking for new guests closest to the sanctuary. Handicapped parking is reserved for those who need assistance.
Who Can Help Me Find My Way Around The Church?
There are greeters and ushers in the area leading into our sanctuary. Should you need help finding your way around our church, please do not hesitate to ask one of them. They will gladly show you to your destination.
