Spiritual Gifts Assessment
What Is a Spiritual Gift?
A spiritual gift is a special ability, given by God, for Christian service. Spiritual gifts are tools that God gives Christians to do the work of the ministry-to fulfill the Great Commission to reach, baptize, and teach, and to minister to one another.
Spiritual gifts are the tools God uses to build his church. A spiritual gift is a divine calling with a divine responsibility, because what God has gifted you to do, he has called you to do.
The Spiritual Gifts Assessment is a discovery tool that provides you with a personalized analysis. Not a test, but a simple questionnaire giving you a profile of your God given spiritual gifts.
Discovering and exercising your God-given spiritual gifts allows you to experience maximum fulfillment with minimum frustration in your Christian life and ministry. This questionnaire and analysis is provided for your personal use, FREE of any charge or obligation.
The results of your assessment will automatically be sent to a member of the LUMC Equipping Ministry Team for entry into our confidential database. The information will only be used internally to help us better understand the gifts and skills of our congregational members. Take this link to the LUMC Equipping Ministry Web Page to learn more about Equipping Ministry at LUMC.
NOTICE – If you are not a member, or a potential member, of Lexington United Methodist Church you may still take the assessment. We will discard the results and they will still be kept confidential.
This questionnaire will help you identify your God-given spiritual gifts. While there are many spiritual gifts, this evaluation covers sixteen gifts used in daily life to do the work of Christian ministry. Every Christian has a dominant gift and many possess more than one. Through this analysis, you will find out in which areas you are most gifted as well as those you are less gifted for. You can then begin to concentrate on further developing your dominant gift as you exercise it in daily life and in your local church ministry.
The 64 questions or statements on the assessment deal with your feelings and desires, so be sure to let your responses reflect your own opinions of yourself. As you read each question or statement, click the button that reflects most accurate answer: Not True (if the statement fits you less that 10% of the time), Sometimes True (if the statement fits you 10% to 40% of the time), Usually True (if the statement fits you 40% to 70% of the time,) or Definitely True if the statement fits you more than 70% of the time. Remember, this is a self-evaluation; there are no “right” or “wrong” answers.
When you have completed the questionnaire, you will be able to view a summary of your scores for each gift. You will also have the opportunity to print out the results.
